At Finlayson Street Surgery, we are proud to be a training practice, supporting the development of the next generation of healthcare porfessionals.
We regularly host GP trainees - fully qualified doctors who are undertaking speacialist training in General Practice. These doctors typically have 2-4 years of hospital experience and consult with patients independently, under the supervision of our experienced GP trainer, Dr Noble.
As part of their training, we may occasionally ask for your permission to video record a consultation. This is solely for educational purposes and will alwyas be discussed with you in advance. You are under no obligation to take part, and choosing not to will not affect your care in any way. No recordings will be made without your consent, and the camera will be switched off immediately upon request. All recordings are securely deleted after use.
Our current GP trainee is Dr Prashant Meenowa, who joined us in August 2025. He will be with the practice until February 2026.
We also welcome medical students from University of Aberdeen, who are attached to the practice for a period of 5 weeks. They are here to observe and learn. If you would prefer not to have a student present during your consultation, please let a member of the Reception team know.
