Ordering Prescriptions

Repeat Prescriptions

You can request repeat prescriptions in any of the following ways:

  • Hand your repeat slip to your local pharmacy
  • Drop your repeat slip into the prescription box at reception
  • Call the Prescription Line on 01346 586060
  • Email the Prescription Desk at: gram.finlaysonprescriptions@nhs.scot
  • Submit an Engage request (Admin request option)
  • Send a postal request (please include a stamped self addressed envelopes

Special Requests

If you require medication that is not listed on your reapeat prescription, this is known as a special request.  These requests will be reviewed by a GP or prescribing pharmacist and will only be issued if clinically appropriate. 

Collecting Your Prescription

Prescriptions can be collected from your nominated pharmacy. You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time by contacting the surgery.

Please allow 48 working hours, (longer for postal requests) excluding weekends and bank holidays, for your prescription to be processed. This helps avoid unnecessary delays and allows the surgery to work more efficiently. 

If you have any problems with your prescription, please contact the surgery.

Pharmacy First Scotland

NHS Pharmacy First Scotland is a free NHS service available at your local community pharmacy. 

If you have a minor illness, your first point of contact should usually be the pharmacy.  You don't need an appointment and you can visit any participating pharmacy. You do not usually need an appointment and you can go to any pharmacy.

A local pharmacist or a trained member of the thier team will assess your symptoms, provide advice and treatment (including medication if needed), refer you to another healthcare professional if further care is required. This could include referral to your:

  • GP Practice
  • Dentist
  • Optometrist
  • Another NHS service

Medication Reviews

If you are on repeat medication, we may ask you to attend a review. This helps to ensure your treatment is safe and effective.  We will contact you when a review is due.

What to Do with Old Medicines

If you have medication that you no longer need, please return it to your local pharmacy. Do not throw medicines in the household bin or flush them down the toilet.
